Is it okay if I straighten my natural hair?

I have been natural for a few years now and I want to know if it is safe for me to straighten my hair.

  • There's always a risk of heat damage when straitening your hair. I guess it's just about being willing to take that risk if you really want to. Just make sure to take the necessary precautions like using a heat protectant or going to a professional hairdresser who will know how to do your hair. This will lessen the risk. Alternatively, if you do not want to take that risk, you could always opt for a straight yaki wig which will emulate straightened natural hair.
