If you’ve been on social media lately, you’ve probably noticed batana oil trending in hair care. But what exactly is it, what are its benefits, and how do you use it? We'll answer all these questions in this post - so keep reading!
What Is Batana Oil?
Batana oil is a yellow-coloured oil derived from the nuts of American palm trees. Native to Honduras, it has been traditionally used for both skin and hair care. Compared to other popular oils like argan and coconut oil, batana oil is thicker and richer, making it perfect for nourishing thick, curly hair.
Batana Oil Benefits
Batana oil is packed with vitamins and fatty acids that deeply hydrate both skin and hair. It contains components like vitamin A, oleic acid, palmitic acid, linoleic acid, and stearic acid. These all work together to moisturise your scalp, strengthen your hair, and give it a shiny, healthy look.
How To Use Batana Oil For Hair Growth
Follow the steps below once or twice a week to help encourage hair growth:
- Apply a few drops of batana oil to your scalp.
- Massage the oil into your scalp using gentle, circular motions to help increase blood flow. Increased circulation to the scalp promotes hair growth.
- Leave the oil on for around 20 minutes or overnight.
- Wash the oil out with shampoo and follow with a conditioner.
