How often should I trim Afro hair?

I’m trying to grow my Afro hair. I’ve heard trims are important for healthy hair and hair growth, but I’m not sure how often I should be doing it.

Trim Afro hair every 8–12 weeks, or sooner if you notice split ends or knots. Focus on keeping your hair moisturized and protecting the ends to retain length. Healthy growth comes more from good care than frequent trims.
I’ve also seen people talk about scalp care routines when exploring hair health options.
