How often should I wash my Afro hair?

I’m never sure how often I should wash my Afro hair, as I always see different people recommending different time frames. What’s the right balance, and what affects how often I should wash it?

Afro hair tends to be drier, so washing too often can strip it of moisture. If you work out a lot, use heavy products, or your scalp gets itchy quickly, you might need to wash weekly. The key is listening to your scalp, if it feels itchy, flaky or weighed down, it’s probably time for a wash.
